Square One

Maybe just a little too fast

Think first, is it going to last?

Forever is perhaps overrated

Time is of essence

But your presence is something that I shall miss

Time maybe the answer for that wish of everlasting bliss

Your child-like giggles and laughter

The way you act hyper after two cups of coffee

The way you stare at me and smile

And your signature scent that entices my senses

How we part ways despite a common destination

The way I find time for us to be close

The way you appreciate and thank me

The way you become the smile on my face

Are fourteen days enough to keep me sane?

Or maybe to let go of infatuation’s chains?

Reasons over emotions is maybe the way to go

Let’s go back to square one and see how far it goes
